Dr. Penina Lam is passionate about advancing learning and performance and loves to work on collaborative, social impact projects with global reach. She’s the 2018 Innovation & Global Growth Honouree, BMO Celebrating Women.
A pioneer in the eLearning field, Dr. Lam works in Canada, the U.S. and in Sub-Saharan Africa to support organizations seeking innovative digital learning and performance improvement interventions. Her expertise lies in facilitating online, onsite or blended approaches to offer accessible, efficient, scalable, and quality offerings.
She has held senior leadership roles in academic and corporate settings guiding organizations seeking to start, scale, and sustain human capital development initiatives. She works across sectors and has been engaged by diverse international development organizations, corporate, and academic partners.
She’s a passionate Rotarian, champions nutrition, health and education initiatives; and serves on the board Chair of CHAP. She is also the co-founder of Lishe Foods, a Canadian social enterprise that conducts research and development (R&D) and supplier of specialized ready-to-use nutritious foods, designed for use in emergency relief contexts.
She holds a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership & OD from the University of Louisville, USA.
Elias Kinyua – eLearning Developer and Instructional Designer
Elias is an eLearning developer with over 5 years of hands-on experience in implementing digital learning solutions. Elias’ key competencies include instructional design, developing interactive content, implementing online platforms, and capacity building.
Peter Kiprotich: Graphic/Instructional Designer
Peter is an experienced Instructional Designer and eLearning specialist with more than 5 years in researching, designing, creating, presenting, and evaluating educational materials in a wide variety of media in both eLearning and face-to-face courses. Projects and programs include audio/visual production of web based training modules.
Barbara K. Makhaya: Instructional Designer, Q&A Specialist
Barbara’s expertise is in digital learning capacity development and eLearning monitoring and evaluation. As our Q&A specialist and Lead Trainer, her responsibilities include; identifying user needs, designing training resources and schedule for capacity building sessions. She also works closely with the instructional designers in designing course evaluation tools for online courses, to ensure our courses are of high quality and adhere to best practices, adult learning/andragogical principles, and meet clients’ expectations.
Ian Njuguna: Graphic/Instructional Designer
Ian is an ambitious and self-motivated graphics and web/content designer with a strong technical background and a passion for content development, design and web scripting. He holds an MBA in Strategic Management and an undergraduate degree in Bachelor of Science in ICT. He has over 10 years of experience in designing engaging communication and learning solutions including eLearning portals, online quizzes & assessments and user interface designs (UX).
He brings his experience in web development and expertise in the various e-Learning authoring, administration and tracking tools such as CourseLab, Wondershare QuizCreator, Articulate, Adobe Captivate, Moodle and Sakai.
